GENERAL BREAKFAST: The National Perspective on Infrastructure Investment

Start the first full day of the conference with a sit-down breakfast to hear from Ed Rendell, former Governor of Pennsylvania and Co-Chair of Building America’s Future. Ray LaHood, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation for the Obama Administration, serves as the other Co-Chair of Building America's Future. As Governor, Rendell worked with Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to create an organization called “Building America’s Future.” The organization focuses on the need for a more significant investment in American infrastructure projects to ensure that America maintains its place as a global economic power. As Co-Chair of the organization, Governor Rendell travels throughout the country speaking about this issue.

National Alliance of Public Transportation Advocates (NAPTA)

The National Alliance of Public Transportation Advocates (NAPTA) is the national organization representing grassroots transit coalitions that support increasing investment in public transportation. Join the NAPTA meeting to discuss how grassroots coalitions can mobilize their stakeholders in support of transit as well as the many tools that NAPTA provides such as the APTA Local Coalition Grants to support these efforts. Grassroots coalitions, state association leaders, policymakers, transit operators and all those interested are encouraged to attend.
